Why convert JPG to PNG?
JPG loses a little detail every time it's saved. Converting to PNG gives you a lossless copy that stays exactly the same no matter how often you edit it — ideal before cropping, annotating or adding text.
Keep in mind that PNG files of photos are usually several times larger than the JPG. If you only need a smaller file, use Compress Image instead.

Does converting JPG to PNG improve quality?
No. Converting can't bring back detail the JPG already lost, but the PNG won't lose any more quality when you edit or re-save it.
Will the PNG have a transparent background?
No. JPG has no transparency, so the PNG keeps the original background. Converting only changes the format.
Why is my PNG bigger than the JPG?
PNG stores every pixel without loss, while JPG discards detail to save space. For photos this makes the PNG much larger — that's normal.
Are my images uploaded to a server?

Does PixStrong remove photo metadata (EXIF)?
